When it comes to rating people, I prioritize judgement followed by originality, knowledge, and body of work. “Judgement” in this context meaning a person’s ability to make mental decisions based on limited amounts of information or concepts that are distant from each other — it’s not the same as intelligence. I’ve restricted the list to people who are alive or died within the last 20 years.
Don’t mistake a lack of comment for personal dislike.
Anons:
Cremieux — inmitably wide range of knowledge. Extremely intelligent and productive.
Ryan Faulk — self-correcting temperament, great at improvising, and has highly original ideas. Has expert-level knowledge in history, heredity, race, and politics.
Sean Last
Bronze Age Pervert — great judgement, original thought on the relationship between heredity and philosophy from a historical perspective.
Charles Angleson — extremely naturally gifted; wrote an entire book about human biodiversity and education at the age of 16-18.
HBDChick
Thuletide — similar to Ryan: good at self-correcting.
Facelords:
Richard Lynn — has the strongest judgement of all the people on this list.
Charles Murray
J Philippe Rushton
Anatoly Karlin
Arthur Jensen — extremely high quality work on a technical level, but his work is mostly psychometrics-specific.
Steve Sailer
Emil Kirkegaard — rarely gets attached to bad ideas or makes Type I errors. Strong domain-specific knowledge in psychometrics and statistics.
Razib Khan
Michael Woodley
Peter Frost
Davide Piffer
Heiner Rindermann
Greg Cochran
It is bizarre to see both Ryan Faulk and Arthur Jensen placed on the same list. Partially because anonymity is low status, but also because anons and facelords tend to do different work and present themselves in different ways. So, separate lists were made for those who are anonymous and those who are not.
I refuse to comment on where I would place on the list, though I would be somewhere between the top 50 and top 10.
Another detail that people who are not familar with the space might miss — there’s an interesting collider effect that occurs in the HBD sphere. Intelligent/productive people who are mentally sane eventually distance themselves from the community, and climb a different status hierarchy. The competent people who are left are generally two types: pathological personalities who find it difficult to compete in modern hierarchies that are heavily regimented or longhoused, or people who have a strong interest/passion for race science.
The autism meme is true, insomuch as close to half of the people on this list have clinical levels of autism. Though it should be noted that autism is generally bad, and that people who lean too heavily into their autism tend to fail both at life and race science. “Autism” does result in people being more suited to technical or abstract tasks in comparison to social or active ones, though the trait also causes people to be overly detail oriented and pedantic, which makes them suffer.
Link for Ryan Faulk? never heard of him.
Emil too low, Karlin too high, imo.
Fellow Sean Last respecter.
Is Hakan an alt of one of these people or why did you mention him? I don't see him on the list.
